Speyfest is a traditional/contemporary celtic music festival held over a weekend every July/August in Fochabers, Moray.
The 2020 festival had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.
It means that the 25th Speyfest is now scheduled to take place in July 2021.
Providing all that is best in traditional and contemporary celtic music, the event takes place on the playing fields in Fochabers.
They erect several large marquees and there are often two separate music stages going simultaneously, as well as sessions on the campus and in pubs and other venues elsewhere in the town.
Speyfest is a charity run entirely by volunteers.
It has attracted many of the most famous names across the world of celtic music.
Speyfest can call on a host of talented local musicians and bands – especially fiddlers – who always form the nucleus of the entertainment. The annual reunion of the Fochabers Fiddlers is a highlight of the programme.
